I love the Creative Commons section of Flickr! The copyright stuff has always scared me away from doing too much downloading from the internet, and I am glad to find a "safe" place for a goto spot. I am looking forward to using pictures on my classroom Wiki to make it exciting for my students. Caution definitely needs to be the word if you are thinking of having your kiddos look for pictures...not all pictures are "G" rated! (I've got little guys, so I'm always on the lookout for that.)
For the purpose of completing #5, I chose a picture of Ayer's Rock (aka Uluru) in Austrailia. I hope to visit there when I finish getting my Master's degree. During the day, it's pretty brown and dullish, but at sunset, it comes alive with bright hues of red.

You can also add video, and music to your wiki or powerpoint. Creative commons has tabs at the top of the site that will take you to music and videos that have been approved for use.
ReplyDeleteI also found many pictures on Flickr to enhance lessons. I agree with you that this is not a website that I would have my first graders going to.
